About the founder & director

sharedserviceslink.com was set up by Susie West in 2007.  Susie felt compelled to set up sharedservieslink.com when it  became clear that the thousands of SSOs she had worked with over ten years had few places to go and get credible case study information.

Working with SSOs it became clear that successful organisations seemed to have similar patterns of behaviour.  But conferences and events at the time didn’t seem to nail, and share these patterns. sharedserviceslink.com was set up to get make-a-difference information into the market.

Five years at the global e-invoicing service OB10 meant Susie worked closely with hundreds of shared services operations in Europe and North America, looking to fix problems within their P2P process.

Before this, Susie was recruited by the SVP Finance Shared Services Europe at a global bank to benchmark its performance against 150 other SSOs across Europe.  Susie spoke at a number of shared services conferences on behalf of the bank and this project, and was a chief contributor to the final report.

Between 1998 and 2001 Susie set up and ran the Shared Services Network at IQPC and edited Shared Services News which, at the time, had a readership of 2,000.
