1) If you could be anybody for a day, who would you be and why?

I have no major desire to be anybody else but if I had to, then maybe Roger Federer. It would be interesting to see how a major sports star lives and trains for a day. Also it would be no harm to have his resources at my disposal :-)

2) You’re stranded on a desert island and allowed just 3 essentials. What would you choose?

Suncream, Swiss Army Knife, Desalination Device

3) What is your idea of a perfect weekend?

Time with my family, great food and preferably my favourite sports team winning

4) If you won the lottery what would your first purchase be?

A holiday - a month across the US with the whole family

5) What is the most satisfying part of your job?

The successful implementation of a strategy that we have developed for our process area

5) And what do you find challenging about your job?

External factors and complexities that can influence the timeline to complete the implementation of our strategies

6) What is your advice for anybody looking to enter your career?

Never give-up. You will never know everything but you will need to know where to get the information. Ensure you build a strong network of people around you

7) Which part of sharedserviceslink’s Summit for Global Process Owners are you most looking forward to?

Interacting with other GPOs and exchanging experiences

Beat will be speaking at the Summit for Global Process Owners, taking place between September 3rd-5th, 2014 at the Kensington Close Hotel in London.

His presentation, ‘How the GPO model has impacted the purchase to pay process – the Oracle Story’ will reveal the significant improvements that have been realised in Oracle’s purchase to pay process since the GPO structure has been in place. With 1 million invoices every year, Beat will explore the methods he has employed to ensure strong governance, high automation, self-service and that the process is VAT legal or SEPA compliant.
