Wärtsilä is a market leader in ship power, power plants diesel, natural gas engines, biopower solutions and complete propulsion systems. It has significant pressure on it as a business to ensure that raw material invoices, and indirects, are paid on time in order to honour ‘order flow’ to customers. When Wärtsilä set up its shared services (now serving 50 Wärtsilä companies in 43 different locations), it naturally assumed the improved and harmonized processes would mean cost and time efficiency as well as paying suppliers on time. However, with suppliers around the globe now sending invoices to the SSO in Finland, post to posting-on-SAP cycles were becoming longer and longer. This compelled Wärtsilä to implement e-invoicing. During this excellent webinar, Wärtsilä, which processes 700,000 invoices annually, will examine:

  1. How they got started with e-invoicing and what helped them be clear about their requirements
  2. How they managed to successfully define their scope for the projects
  3. How they defined their Stakeholders early and put some keen attention on some surprising stakeholders
  4. How they got the technology to support their aims
  5. How Payment on Time has improved considerably as a result
  6. How cash flow forecasting has significantly improved
  7. How e-invoicing helps Wärtsilä with their green objective

The project is now looking to roll out in Italy, France, Germany, Switzerland, The Netherlands, Sweden, Denmark, Norway and the UK, and Wärtsilä has the benefit of learning the lessons from their Finnish implementation. If you would like to benefit from these lessons learnt, make sure you register today.
