It’s my role to ensure that we are commercially successful while keeping our main focus on the quality of the service we provide. I look for and capitalise on growth opportunities for the business. Previous life: I sold e-invoicing technology in Europe and the US for five years. Before that I worked at Citigroup Shared Services on a benchmarking project. I started my career at a conference company where I set up a division focused on shared services events. I am proud of: Building sharedserviceslink.com. I am particularly passionate about ways in which we can innovate with our website, online marketing, search engine optimisation and social media. Previous life: I started my marketing and advertising career in Latin America, managing a key account for an award-winning retailer. I moved to London in 1997 and worked for a global events company, driving the success of a portfolio of over 70 products per year in America, UK and Europe. I speak regularly with heads of shared services, process owners and finance directors to find out what keeps them up at night and who's overcoming these obstacles successfully. Previous life: I was an assistant economist in HM Treasury’s Global Economics team writing reports on emerging markets for the Chancellor of the Exchequer’s office. I then worked as a project manager for a large-scale events firm before joining sharedserviceslink.com. Proudest moment: I won third place at a Quagmire lookalike contest. Michael Hill, Global Sales ManagerMy role at sharedserviceslink.com: I am responsible for the day to day running of the Sales Department including recruitment and employee development. My role is very much ‘hands on’ with me playing a pivotal part in the success of the business. I work closely with my team to ensure that we organise and run professional events giving the best return on investment for our sponsors and delegates alike. Previous life: I started my professional career as a Telesales Executive within the Telecommunications industry before progressing into Field Sales and then Management. I have worked within Sales Management in various capacities for the past 8 years within a variety of sectors ranging from Telecommunications, IT, Pharmaceuticals, Food / Beverages and Adult Social Networking. Proudest moment: Winning the North East 125cc Supersport Motorcycle Championship twice. Running and then racing for my own motorcycle road race team where I competed at British and European Championship level, achieving numerous top 6 results within the British Superbike Championship.
