Finance Director

Guardian News & Media (GNM) opened a New York office, bringing their unique style of journalism to an American audience. As part of their expansion they are looking for a Finance Director to join the US team.

Based in New York, this will be the key finance position within the company, responsible for all financial and management reporting, financial planning and analysis, strategic planning and development, management of transaction processing and all statutory reporting and tax compliance issues.

The Finance Director will be responsible for maintaining and developing a strong financial control environment across the company and will be tasked with managing the relationship with the external auditors and tax advisors, as well as the Guardian's Internal Audit, Tax and Treasury functions.

The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of US corporate governance and US corporate income tax and excellent financial planning and analysis experience, preferably from within the media industry. You will be an excellent communicator with strong management skills and have the ability to influence, persuade and challenge at all levels of the business.
