This position will oversee and monitor the Fixed Asset, Intercompany allocation, and cash transaction review functions while managing and developing staff and building key relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Position is also responsible for the review and completion of the Japan Intercompany Balance Sheet and P&L and the Japan Fixed Asset Schedule.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Review and approve inter/intra-company billing and reconciliation processes on behalf of all Astellas US entities
  • Maintain the inter/intra-company allocation cycles which produce the intercompany billing. This includes being able to review the allocation cycles in SAP and pull the data from BPC to ensure accurate billing to and support for subsidiaries
  • Maintains open communication with API and all affiliates to ensure all intercompany out of balance issues are resolved timely and accurately
  • Oversee the maintenance of fixed assets for all Astellas entities within SAP including depreciation, disposal and capitalization
  • Review and approve cash transactional activity
  • Responsible for the completion of statutory reporting and related footnotes (Fixed Assets and Intercompany activity) as required for inclusion in the Japan Schedules
  • Responsible for timely review of account reconciliations
  • Assist with the integration of new entities into the Astellas business units
  • Implement and maintain policies and procedures established for the department, including identified J-Sox controls
  • Primary contact for internal and external audit requirements along with J-Sox internal control testing procedures for Cash transactional activity, Fixed Assets, and Intercompany activity
  • Supervise a staff of two professional employees
  • Staff training, development, motivating and adhering to performance standards
  • Communicate and handle employee performance issues
  • Quantitative Dimensions: Describe the measurable areas on which this position has direct or indirect impact. Include areas such as operating budget, sales, cost of goods, number of clients or vendors, number and complexity of clinical studies, etc.
  • The company currently holds net property valued in excess of $200 million. The position will be responsible for managing cash inflows and outflows in excess of $3 billion
  • Intercompany transactions amongst AUSH and API and its affiliates total in excess of $1.5 billion. It is essential that all transactions amongst API entities self eliminate requiring prompt billings and dispute resolution to facilitate completing the 4 day closing cycle
  • Position reports directly to the Director, Financial Operations and has two professional staff reporting into it. The area is responsible for very diverse financial transaction activity
  • The position is actively involved with various internal stakeholders including API, financial staff at various affiliates, and various operational staff outside the Finance and Procurement function. The position interacts with internal and external auditors in support of the various schedules it provides
