A survey recently conducted by Certipost has shown that convincing business partners and managing both paper and electronic invoices constitute the greatest obstacles to the adoption of e-invoicing.
The respondents to the survey were all from companies who had an interest in adopting, or enhancing their e-invoicing offering.
No less than 57% of respondents see connecting suppliers and customers as a potential stumbling block, and 45% of respondents quoted dealing with both paper and electronic documents as a potential problem.
Going completely paperless is not feasible for any company. There are always suppliers who send paper invoices, and there are always customers who demand paper invoices. Gradually moving to e-invoicing, therefore, will allow for a smoother transition.
Certipost has set up two new services for this: Scan & Capture and Print & Post. This allows a company to electronically receive the invoices a supplier sends on paper. And customers who wish to receive their invoices on paper can do so, while the invoices are generated electronically. Using the Certipost electronic communication platform, both the inbound and outbound document flows can be handled completely digitally. In this way, a company is able to switch to electronic invoicing and, at the same time, keep suppliers and customers happy.
