Liberata Spearhead First Cross County Shared Services Agreement
Charnwood and Rushcliffe Borough councils, in Leicestershire and Nottinghamshire respectively, are to partner on back office activities including transactional finance with a view to save £740,000.
Liberata, which already works with over 20 local councils, has been selected by the two to manage the combined services. The new business centre is to be located in a "mutually beneficial and agreeable travel to work area for all staff."
Some £740,000 is expected to be saved in the second and third years of the contract, and both councils have committed to achieve 10% annual savings as a result. Charnwood and Rushcliffe have also welcomed the idea of any other local council who may be interested in entering into the partnership with them.
