Six of the world’s leading expense management and Accounts Payable automation companies have joined to launch Emburse, with ex-SAP Concur executive Eric Friedrichsen at the helm.

Emburse sees the coming together of Abacus, Captio, Certify, Chrome River, Nexonia and Tallie as one brand.

It serves over 4.5m users in 120 countries and counts Toyota, Lufthansa Systems, Telefonica and Grant Thornton among its 14,000 clients.

Emburse said it will share key technologies to support and innovate its six core expenses solutions.

“We are so much stronger as one company. With significant scale and disruptive technology, we’re redefining how organizations view travel and expense management and AP automation,” said Friedrichsen.

He added: “Emburse’s vision is to humanize work and automate everywhere we can, using technologies such as machine learning. This will enable organizations to make faster, smarter decisions, empower business travelers to recapture lost nights and weekends spent doing tedious expense management, and help make our users’ lives – and their businesses – better.”
