France Now Has the Highest Number of Peppol Participants

France has overtaken Belgium to become the country with the highest number of Peppol participants, according to figures published on 2 August 2026.

As the September 1 e-invoicing mandate approaches, France now has 2,206,577 distinct Peppol participant identifiers, compared with 2,110,493 for Belgium.

Just 30 days earlier, France had 1,309,366 participants. Since then, France's participant total has increased by almost 900,000, moving the country from second place to the top of the rankings.

The latest increase included 58,597 additional French participants recorded on 2 August alone.

The figures published by peppol-id.eu reflect the number of distinct Peppol participant identifiers, not the number of individual businesses connected to the network.
